Solutions
There is only one solution to save the harbor at Grand Marais. A new breakwall MUST be constructed and soon. Time is running out! Estimates are that the harbor will be gone in 3 – 5 years. That cannot be allowed to happen. The Burt Township Board has passed three resolutions over the last few years. They are below. Also below is a proposal to build the Breakwall submitted by Tom Newhof of Prein/Newhof Engineering firm of Grand Rapids, MI. This is the goal the people of Grand Marais are working to achieve.
